Our Founder
Preserving a Classic American Sound
The Jazz House Big Band was founded more than 30 years ago by Doug Wareing, whose deep love of jazz inspired a mission to preserve and share this classic American musical tradition.
Doug was passionate about educating the public and introducing younger generations to the joy, energy, and unique sound of Big Band music.
His vision continues today through the musicians, performances, dances, and community events that keep this music alive in East Idaho.
What We Play

Jazz House Big Band brings audiences the timeless music of a bygone era, performed by a full ensemble of local musicians who love the Big Band sound.
Community Musicians
Our members come from all over East Idaho and range in age from 18 to over 80, including students, working professionals, and retirees.

No matter our age or background, we are united by a deep love and appreciation for Big Band music and live performance.
The Band Today
Music for Schools, Events, Dances, and Celebrations
As a non-profit organization, Jazz House Big Band regularly performs for local school music programs, civic events, charity fundraisers, and community celebrations.
The band is also available for corporate events, weddings, and private parties. In addition to special performances, we proudly host a Swing Dance on the first Saturday of every month.
